Friday Contest Menu

The twentieth contest of the Free Friday Fun(d)raiser series will be offered on Friday, June 2nd, 2017. The charity tournament series: Free Friday Fun(d)raiser takes place every Friday until June 9, 2017. The contest series is designed for novices and experts alike who would like to help raise awareness and funds for various horse racing charities. The contest will also appeal to those with limited resources whether time, money, or both.

In CharitableWager.com’s Free Friday Fun(d)raiser series, all participants will select horses in 5 mandatory races in a mythical bankroll handicapping contest where the winner gets to decide what charity receives all of the ‘weekly donation pool.’

For the last two editions of the Friday Fun(d)raiser series there will be no quick-pick robots representing charities. All entries will by actual humans.

The contest menu for the next Friday Fun(d)raiser contest is as follows:

  1. Indiana Grand Race 4
  2. Woodbine Race 8
  3. Belmont Race 8
  4. Evangeline Race 6
  5. Lone Star Park Race 4

Selections for the Free Friday Fun(d)raiser can be made via this Contest Entry Form. Contestants can follow contest updates via the hashtag #CWager on Twitter.

The Free Friday Fun(d)raiser series (FFF) has no entry fee. The winner will select from over a dozen horse racing themed charities. The FFF ‘weekly donation pool’ is currently US$5 (contributed by the Charitable Wager Host) plus all of ‘weekly’ donation fees of the sponsoring advertisers. 100% of FFF ‘weekly donation pool’ will go to the designated charity.

Additionally, in the 2017 Free Friday Fun(d)raiser series, contestants will earn contest points for the charities for which they were playing. Weekly winners will earn 60 points, weekly second place finishers will earn 20 points, third place finishers will earn 10 points. All other weekly participants will earn 1 point for their respective charities. The FFF ‘annual donation pool’ is currently US$100 (contributed by the Charitable Wager Host) plus all of ‘annual’ donation fees of the sponsoring advertisers. At the end of the FFF 2017 season (June 9nd), the five charities with the most amassed points will receive 60%, 20%, 10%, 5% and 5% of the FFF ‘annual’ donation pool for first, second, third, fourth, and fifth place respectively.

While no donation is required to play in the Free Friday Fun(d)raiser series, contestants will be encouraged to donate $5, or however much they feel comfortable contributing, to the charity selected by winner of each weekly contest.

The FFF ‘Series Donation Pool’ For 2017 Is $100.

The top performing robot and/or player was designated as playing The Race For Education.

Through academic development programs, tutoring, internships, financial literacy training and scholarships, The Race For Education provides opportunities for educational success for young people with significant financial need and academic challenges. With the ultimate goal of making sure students are successful in life and become an asset to their community. The Race For Education established a partnership in 2008 with the American Association of Equine Practitioners to offer one scholarship to each of the 34 Veterinary Schools in North America. The program is funded by RFE, The AAEP Foundation and Platinum Performance and continues to be very successful. Additionally, the “Leg Up” program, a partnership with the Kentucky 4H Program got off the ground in 2013 offering a scholarship to one student at each of the over 100 chapters in Kentucky.

Each week, the CharitableWager.com Host will donate US$5 (plus advertising fees) to the charity selected by the winning entrant. Contestants aren’t obligated to donate but are encouraged to give US$5 or however much they feel comfortable contributing. Those who would like to contribute to The Race For Education can do so through this linked web page.

Additionally, charities represented in the weekly Free Friday Fun(d)raiser contest will earn points in the annual standings. The charities will earn 60, 20, and 10 points when their proxies finish first, second and third respectively. Plus, charities will amass an additional 1 point for each player who represented them but did not finish in the top 3. At the end of the year, the top 5 charities in the annual points standings will receive 60%, 20%, 10%, 5%, and 5% of the annual donation pool. The annual donation pool is the combination of a $100 donation from the host and advertising fees on the FFF web pages.
